The Rider Safety and Liability Agreement

Why OnMyLead asks you to agree before you ride, what the agreement says, where to read it again, and what gets saved when you tap I Agree.

iPhone AppLast Updated

The first time you open OnMyLead, a Before You Ride screen shows the Rider Safety and Liability Agreement. Every rider agrees to it before using the app: on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and on onmylead.com after you sign in.

What It Says

In short: you ride at your own risk, and you're responsible for riding safely.

  • Riding and driving can lead to injury, death and damage, and you accept those risks.
  • Never look at, type on or tap your phone while your vehicle is moving. Pull over first, or let a passenger use the app.
  • Only ride where it's legal and allowed. Maps, routes, trails and waypoints, including ones other riders share, can be wrong, closed or on private land.
  • OnMyLead is not an emergency or safety service. Alerts can be late or never arrive. In an emergency, call 911. See Emergencies and Staying Safe.
  • Always call 911 in an emergency. The EMERGENCY button, Crash Alert, Need Help and the Emergency Siren only alert other riders on your ride who use OnMyLead. They don't call or text 911 or any rescue service, and they can be late or not work at all with no signal, a dead battery or Bluetooth out of range. If anyone is hurt or in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first, then tell your group.
  • You're responsible for what you do and for any accident you cause, and you release RUS Offroad LLC and OnMyLead from liability for your riding and your use of the app.
  • If you're under 18, a parent or guardian agrees for you.

Agree to It

  1. Read the agreement on the Before You Ride screen. Scroll to see all of it.
  2. Tick the box that says I have read and agree to the Rider Safety and Liability Agreement, I accept the risks of riding, and I will always call 911 in an emergency.
  3. Tap I Agree. The button stays grey until the box is ticked.

You're asked once, the first time you open the app. You won't see it again on that phone, tablet or browser, even after signing out, unless the agreement changes, in which case everyone is asked to agree to the new version. If you agree before you sign in, that answer counts for the account you sign in with next on that device. If you use a new phone or reinstall the app, it checks your account and doesn't ask again.

Version 2 of the agreement (November 6, 2026) adds Always Call 911 in an Emergency, so after you update to OnMyLead 2.1 the Before You Ride screen shows once more. Read it, tick the box and tap I Agree to keep riding.

No signal? Tapping I Agree works offline, so you can still use Ride Mode and Help and SOS. The app sends the record as soon as it's back online.

The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy links on the screen open those pages. Go back to return to the agreement.

Read It Again

  • In the app: on the You tab, tap Safety Agreement at the bottom.
  • On the website: Rider Safety Agreement at the bottom of the onmylead.com homepage, or go to onmylead.com/rider-agreement.

What Gets Saved

When you tap I Agree, OnMyLead saves a record of it: your account, email address and ride name, the version you agreed to and a fingerprint of its exact words, the time, the app version, the kind of device and its system version, your language, IP address and browser. Other riders never see it.

The record can't be changed or deleted, and it's kept if you delete your account, because it's a legal record of what you agreed to. See the Privacy Policy.
